Short week

It feels like a short week this week. I got my hair touched up on Monday. I go to a great stylist named Joy Evans at A Time for You in Pekin. She has evening appointments which is nice. I feel like a free woman every 4 weeks when I go get my hair done. Tuesday we had a luncheon at Josh's work. Wednesday my Mom, Mia and I went shopping in Tuscola. Found some great deals there. Thursday was Taco night and now its Friday. Josh is off this weekend so hopefully we'll have a nice weekend. The 4th is coming and we have family from out of town coming in. So I'll more interesting things to write later.

Art time

Mia has been very angry lately. So I'm figuring she's bored. Yesterday Josh and I bought her art supplies. So today when she started acting up I set up "Art Time". She had a great time. I was surprised she knew what to do so quickly. She just started coloring......with her right hand. We were sure she was a lefty but lately she's favoring her right hand. So not only do I have a shrine to Mia all over my house of Mia's studio pictures, now I will have her drawings up everywhere. Something new to to do, I love it.

Busy Week

Mia and I had a busy week. Wednesday Mia, my parents and I went to Wildlife Prairie Park. We had a good time. We thought it was going to be cool out but it wasn't. It was pretty warm. We walked the trail, had lunch and saw the buffalo. We got to see feeding time. So Mia got to see the "Dog Dog's" up close.

Friday we all went to the Peoria Chiefs game. Josh got us cheap tickets at work and we sat on the patio. We also got free T-shirts. Mia was pretty good considering she walks. So we took turns walking around with her. We didn't make it for the fireworks. I think we were all too tired.

Now its the weekend. Its Josh's turn to be the parent. I need to catch my breath.

I turned 30!

Well I survived. I made it pass my 30th birthday. I still swear I'm only 25 but I'm 30. I had a great birthday weekend. Friday we went to Steamboat Days with the Martins. It was so perfect outside. Cool and breezy. Then Saturday we went to swimming at my brother's house then out to dinner at Kobe's. The Stewart's(Josh's sister and brother-in-law), The Cummins and Tracy all joined us. We had a blast watching the cook prepare our Japanese meal in front of us. The food was great. Then we went to Martini's.

Sunday we had a 30th birthday/Father's day cookout at our house. We smoked pork loin and ribs on our smoker. Afterwards we had a bocce and washer's tournament. I'm tired.....must be the old age.

Family fun weekend

We had a fun filled weekend. Friday Josh's sister and husband stayed with us. They have a little dog named "Sassy". So Mia has a new word...Sassa. It was so cute watching her follow her around. Saturday we went to the Tremont Turkey Festival. Mia got her own kids meal. She ate everything. It was hot and humid but a good time. Saturday night we had the residency graduation. That was fun. Mia stayed home from that. Then Sunday was Dad's birthday. We went to a cook out at their house and Mia and Mason played in the hose. They were funny together.

Rain Rain go away!!!

This has been one wet month. It seems like rain is in the forecast for every day. Mia and I sat around yesterday waiting to take cover. There has been so much rain Josh can't even mow. So after the storms last night we have a swamp in our back yard. If it doesn't rain again for a week Mia might be able to go out and play......but its in the forecast for at least the next 3 days. I included pictures of the birds taking a bath in our yard. Hopefully Mia's new toys aren't sinking into the ground.
