Day at the Zoo

My nephew Mason got his report card today and now he is on summer vacation. We celebrated by going to the Glen Oak Zoo. Josh and I have a membership there so we try to go often. Mia just loves her cousin. The entire ride there she just smiled and smiled at him in the back seat with her. We watched the sea lion feeding. We walked the entire zoo. Then we went to lunch. the weather was perfect. We probably won't get many more days like this. Central Illinois always goes from cold to hot. Never inbetween.

Memorial Day Weekend

Well it's Memorial Day Weekend. It wouldn't be complete without a cook out in the backyard. We had some of our friends over for food and fun. Josh and I smoked pork loins and had baked beans, corn casserole, cole slaw, deviled eggs and brownies. YUM YUM.

Its always fun to watch the kids play. Selina, Nicholas, Jake and Ethan all came to play. I hope the rest of the summer is this fun.

3 Years ago today

3 years ago today Josh and I were married. It seems a lot longer than that. It also seems crazy that we've only been together for 5 years. In 5 short years we've gotten married, bought a house and had a child. Major milestones in a short time. We've been together through a lot of changes. I see a lot of changes in our future too. It should help us keep it fresh.

So its my anniversary...how do I spend it? Well Josh is asleep on the couch. Mia is napping in her crib. I'm alone, sitting in my new chair, under the tree in my backyard reading a magazine. PERFECTION! What a gorgeous day.

Garage Sales

Saturday bright and early I got up and drove around Lake Camelot looking for little tikes outdoor stuff. On the last street when I'd almost given up I found a treasure. I got Mia a 2 section, 2 slide 1 tunnel wonder. I think she'll have a great time playing in it this summer. Its slightly used but used enough for me to be able to afford.

We had a great weekend doing yard work, playing with Mia and cleaning the garage. I'm glad its raining today.....I need a break!

We've been stimluated!!!!

Well thank you President Bush. My wallet thanks you. At least this is one thing you've done right....since marrying the lovely Laura.

I got to find out at 4 a.m this morning that we got our money. Miss Mia woke up screaming at 4. She's been fighting a fever and ear infection. Hopefully we won't need an antibiotic. At least Daddy Dr. can get her one this weekend if it doesn't get better.

Now that we have our money we can pay off stupid American Furniture. We will be cutting that card up. We are also going to get our adirondack chairs for the back yard. Mia loves it outside so we'll be getting lots of use out of those. Mia has one too. Its so cute.

Almost 30.

Well here it is 2008. I'm about to turn 30 in 32 days. I'm a Mom to a wonderful little girl named Mia Joy. I have a busy husband named Josh. Busy doesn't really describe it. He's a Doctor. That explains it all.

I had a career I liked for about 3 years. Other than that I usually had a job. Right now my career is full time car giver to Miss Mia. I love it. The only down falls would be lack of adult conversation and bad wardrobe. I am the Suave commerical with the Mom that is falling apart. I keep waiting for TLC's "What not to Wear" crew to knock on my door.

So my goals right now are to survive my birthday, enjoy summer (if it gets here) and get out and be active with Mia as much as possible.
